Today we will explore something a little different: Love Languages.

Usually, whenever we think about “love languages,” it’s often associated with romantic relationships. However, knowing and understanding your love language can be useful in many other relationships (i.e. friends, parents, children, etc.).  Knowing and understanding your love language can also be extremely useful in improving the relationship you have with yourself.

Your task for today is to learn your love language so that you can apply it to how best to love and care for yourself.  Essentially, any way that you would consider giving love to someone else, instead give that love right back to yourself in the form of your own love language.

Here’s an example…
My primary love languages are Words of Affirmation and Quality Time.  When learning to apply my love languages to myself, I have done things such as:

  • Be more mindful of the words I say to myself. (Words of Affirmation)
  • Make more conscious attempts to say positive affirmations in the morning. (Words of Affirmation)
  • Journal about my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. (Words of Affirmation)
  • Make time to spend with myself and doing the things I love. (Quality Time)
  • Working on personal and self-development to learn more about myself. (Quality Time)

The Love Language Quiz can be found here.

  • Complete the quiz.
  • Learn your primary love languages!

Self-Care {Love Language} Brainstorm
Now that you know your primary love language, how will you apply it to loving and caring for yourself?

We’re almost done with Week 1!  I’m glad you’ve made it this far.  Until tomorrow!
